Kaifeng Instrument Co., Ltd. participates in the formulation and promotion of national standards.

From September 20 to 21, the 2024 standard promotion meeting of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Industrial Process Measurement Control and Automation (SAC/TC124/SC1) was successfully held in Xiangyang, Hubei. Nearly 60 representatives from metrology institutions, related enterprises, and users from various provinces and cities attended the meeting.

The meeting began with a report by Secretary General Xiao Honglian of SAC/TC124/SC1 on the committee's work, followed by an introduction on how to participate in the formulation and revision of standards. Subsequently, the main drafters of each standard explained five standards in the field of flow measurement: 1. GB/T 18659-2023 "Guidelines for the Use of Electromagnetic Flow Meters for Measuring Fluid Flow in Closed Pipelines"; 2. GB/T 25922-2023 "Measurement of Fluid Flow in Closed Pipelines Using Vortex Flow Meters Installed in Circular Cross-Section Pipelines"; 3. GB/T 20728-2021 "Selection, Installation, and Use Guidelines for Coriolis Flow Meters for Measuring Fluid Flow in Closed Pipelines"; 4. GB/T 26794-2023 "Counters for Gas Meters"; 5. GB/T 26334-2023 "Installation Accessories for Gas Meters."

The company mainly participated in the drafting of two standards: GB/T 18659-2023 "Guidelines for the Use of Electromagnetic Flow Meters for Measuring Fluid Flow in Closed Pipelines" and GB/T 25922-2023 "Measurement of Fluid Flow in Closed Pipelines Using Vortex Flow Meters Installed in Circular Cross-Section Pipelines."

GB/T 18659-2023 "Guidelines for the Use of Electromagnetic Flow Meters for Measuring Fluid Flow in Closed Pipelines" was released on August 6, 2023, and will be implemented on March 1, 2024. It is equivalent to ISO 20456:2017. This standard integrates GB/T 18659—2002 "Performance Evaluation Methods for Electromagnetic Flow Meters," GB/T 18660—2002 "Methods for Using Electromagnetic Flow Meters," and GB/T 20729—2006 "Flange Installation of Electromagnetic Flow Meters," replacing these three standards. In addition to incorporating the content of the original standards, technical updates and modifications have been made, providing a comprehensive explanation of the measurement of conductive fluids in closed pipelines using electromagnetic flow meters from the aspects of operating principles, installation, and performance evaluation methods.

As the main drafter of GB/T 18659-2023 "Guidelines for the Use of Electromagnetic Flow Meters for Measuring Fluid Flow in Closed Pipelines," the company's chief engineer Jin Wenzhe provided a detailed explanation of the standard at the meeting. Our company, as a major domestic manufacturer of electromagnetic flow meters, has over forty years of design and manufacturing experience. Mr. Jin, in conjunction with practical examples, provided an in-depth and accessible explanation of the new national standard clauses, showcasing our company's strong technical capabilities, which received unanimous praise from the attending experts.

In the future, the company will participate more in the formulation and revision of relevant standards and specifications in the flow measurement industry, showcasing the company's technical strength, expanding its visibility, and adding a more vibrant chapter to Kaifeng Instrument Co., Ltd. in the flow measurement industry, contributing to the company's high-level and high-quality development.
